Dave Cook

​Dave graduated from the Survey Technician Program close to 30 years ago. He gained extensive experience in conventional surveys and line construction crew management while working for several companies. He has worked and managed crews throughout western Canada, Utah, California, Montana, North Dakota, Texas, as well as Tanzania, Africa.

Dave Cook has specialized in GPS and GIS data collection and processing and digital mapping and continues to update his skills and experience through education and practical applications.

Throughout his career as owner of Cook Leach Surveys Ltd. from 2002-2017, Dave has earned a reputation for high quality work and strong leadership built on trust and mutual respect. He emphasizes quality, accountability and efficiency for all facets of operations and expects the same from employees and sub-contractors.

Dave currently serves on the Board of Directors of Canadian Association of Pipeline and Utility Locating Contractors. (CAPULC)

​Laurie Tripp

Laurie ​has experience in both the downtown corporate office as well as in the field in varying roles from field clerk, operations assistant, General Manager of M & M Resources Inc. and most recently HSE Manager of Cook Leach Surveys Ltd.

As General Manager of M & M Resources Inc. in Fort Nelson, B.C. Laurie was directly accountable for all facets of operations including supervision, safety, billing, payroll, client relations, scheduling & project management. This included a variable workforce of up to 100 employees, 50+ pieces of heavy equipment. Projects included: ROW clearing, wellsite clearing projects, seismic line clearing projects, ice road building, hazardous waste hauling, low bed trucking, drill cutting and saw dust hauling, lease and access clearing, pipeline clearing, etc.

Laurie has a proven record of leadership and organizational skills. She is also familiar with all facets of geophysical exploration: pre-planning, approvals, permitting, surveying, line clearing, recording and clean-up. She has experience relationship building and working as a client liaison as well as an Aboriginal Liaison.

She brings extensive knowledge and expertise of safety systems, OH&S Codes and Regulations. She has experience auditing safety programs as well as developing safety programs in ENFORM, Alberta Safety Council and BC WorkSafe COR Environments.


Dave Guttridge

​Dave has occupied many roles since he started his career in this industry nearly 30 years ago. He has been involved in conventional and G.P.S. survey field acquisition, G.I.S. capture and analysis, pipe locating, line construction, crew management and data QC – both in the field and as a 3rd Party Auditor. He has worked in every facet of survey over the years; chainer, rodman, surveyor, catpush, processor, survey auditor. He then continued his career as a Survey Crew Manager in several countries including Bolivia, Argentina, Suriname and Peru in South America and Oman in the Middle East. For 5 years beginning in the fall of 2011, Cook Leach Surveys Ltd. was home for Dave where he ran the day to day operations of several crews in some very difficult locales. 

In addition to having a strong field background, Dave also possesses a unique and powerful computer skill set, with a heavy emphasis on G.I.S. mapping software, and many data processing suites of software such as GPSeismic, Surfer, GrafNav, as well as stand-alone Leica and Trimble products.  

Dave has a proven safety record and possesses many years of experience in leadership roles. He expects accountability from all employees and contractors working under his supervision and he strives to lead by example at all times.
